A CENTRAL Coast fireworks company has been selected to represent Australia at an international fireworks competition in Macau, near Hong Kong.

Central Coast Fireworks fought off some of the big names in the Australian pyrotechnics industry to earn a berth in the 17th Macau International, the competition considered the most prestigious.

The company will compete against other teams over five weeks from September 3.
