JOCKEY Jason Lee brings the confidence of riding in Macau to Kembla Grange as he is legged up on the first three favourite there this afternoon.

A regular at Kembla, Lee got his chance to ride in the Macau Derby from father-in-law Peter Leyshon and partnered Jason who was unplaced behind St Moritz ridden by Danny Nikolic.

"It was a great experience I had nine rides on the night and rode a couple of placings on Bolshy, who Gai (Waterhouse) use to have, in a Group race and Snip Attack, who raced in Melbourne.

"It was my first time over there but you could see why so many jockeys come back better riders from Macau.

"Unfortunately I got suspended at the meeting and missed nine days, so Kembla is only my second day back."

Lee has been John O'Shea's preferred provincial jockey for the past couple of years and will partner Golden Rings in the Returned Soldiers' Club Maiden (2000m) and Redpollard in the Illawarra Credit Union Handicap (1200m) for the gun Randwick trainer.

"I have a great book of ride," Lee said.

"Golden Rings has been going well around the 2000m and it must be nearly his turn.

"He ran third to Le Celibataire last time at Kembla in a Class 1 and drops back to a maiden.

"Redpollard is having his first start and will probably improve from the run but he's not out of it.

"I also have a couple of nice ride for Danny Williams as well."

Lee will ride the unbeaten Cape Breton in AHA Melanoma Cup (1200m) and Power Switch in the Ego Pharmaceuticals Class 1 Handicap (1600m) for Williams.

He will also try to help Buccaneer, a short priced favourite for the Warilla Bowls & Recreation Maiden (1200m), break his duck.
